Tony Bellew and David Haye had some heated pressers before meeting Saturday, March 4, 2017 at The O2 Arena in London. The fight however didn’t go as planned for David Haye. Haye suffered an Achilles tendon injury leaving him an easy target for Bellew.
Tony Bellew knocked down Haye in the 7th and 11th rounds. The 11th round knockdown sent David Haye through the ropes giving Tony Bellew the TKO victory.
Tony Bellew offered a rematch knowing Haye could’ve been a possible better game opponent. Haye had to undergo immediate surgery following the fight. Who knows how long a recovery might take?
Tony Bellew also may had broken his hand in the contest.
If these two do decide to continue there careers after they heal it only makes sense for them to do it once more.
Tony Bellew improves to (29-2-1, 19KOs) and David Haye now drops to (28-3, 26KOs).
